On the plus side - room was comfortable, breakfast was good. On the 'could be better ' side, wifi was all screwed up and they didnt resolve it for us. Also, the place is older, the layout is strange. You had to walk outside to get to rooms and the place was rather sprawling. We stayed two nights prior to embarking on a cruise, so we had a lot of luggage. Had it been raining and we had to drag the luggage all over the place I'd be writing a quite different review.

Stayed here recently. Highly encourage you arrive right around check in time, and not late evening. Not very well lit and so was hard to navigate the hotel to find the room, didn't get a map or the best directions upon check in. Complimentary breakfast is always a plus! Parking is $25 a day, and under structure. Elevators are old and need to be updated. Walking distance to Old Town San Diego which is why I booked this hotel.

Great location. Friendly staffs. Nice outdoor space and cozy breakfast dining area. Walk-in complimentary breakfast and straightforward free-wifi. Breakfast satisfies basic needs (no complaints is the best complement here); there’s outdoor seating. The buildings are old but my room was clean. It definitely needs renovation. Interestingly the oldness added to its exotic vibe… It’s a little pricy for its level but I guess sometimes you can’t beat the location and timing. It’s good enough for a business stay or whole day sightseeing outside.

We love the spanish style of the hotel. Location is perfect, is located near restaurants, bars, and walking distance to the historic old Town park. The hotel needs some remodeling, the wallpaper is falling off in the hallway, the jacuzzi was closed. $25 to park on property, is recommended for compact cars. Just annoying that people don't know how to park.

The hotel is currently under mild construction, this was not noted on the Marriott app. As I walked into the hotel lobby to check in, I noticed immediately that they have no air-con in the lobby. (I don't know if that's normal for southern Cali.) The hotel elevator seemed to take forever. But when I got to my room I was surprised. The room was a decent size, had two balconies, one with a sitting area, and the room was neat. The TV remote barely worked. The air-con in the room was a bit loud and seemed to have trouble keeping up. They only have coffee available in the lobby during breakfast. That seems odd to me, almost every other Marriott hotel has coffee available 24-7. Breakfast was about what you could get from the gas station down the road. They have ample parking but you have to pay $25 a night and larger vehicles are not going to fit. And my last note, the room I requested was not ready when I checked in at 2 pm even though the Marriott app sent me a notification 2 days earlier telling me it was ready.
